Tropical Storm Issac

Well with Issac get itsself together or with it continue to stay a minimul tropical storm? Will Hait and Cuba rip it apart? Will it hit florida or the gulf states? There are to many questions about this storm that have not been answerd. This storm has the potential to be a big issue for the US. If it goes more west into the gulf it could pick up stength and become a major issue.  This thing is going to be tough to predict untill better information comes in so stay tuned.

2012 Feb Tornado Outbreak

As many know the outbreak last month was a record breaker were 453 tornadoes were reported in the US and 56 people killed. I would like to honor those people who lost their lives to mother nature. Many more lives could have been lost if it was not for the Weather warnings and technology these days! Hopefully we won't see as much severe weather this spring/summer than we did last year!

Feb-March

This winter was one of the weakest winter i can remember. In February it was the 2nd warmest on records! Not to mention That the ridiculous heatwave last week when the warmest record this early in the year was recorded in Bradly airport at 83 degrees! The past few days it has cooled to normal or in some cases a bit on the cold side. At my home in Ct i went from 70's and 80 last week to lower to mid 40's the past few days. Also last week it hit 83 degrees in Bangor Maine and  today they were under a winter weather advisory with 3-5 inches of snow. Now thats some radical New England weather! I personaly enjoy the warmth this early however it brought the bugs out a bit early. take it easy everyone!

Warm December

This December has been incredibly warm in the northeast. All of the cities in the northeast have been very warm and very low and the amount of snowfall in December. As its been so wet with rain and warm so far there is a chance of a little snow tonight into Friday morning. snow fall will be a bout 3-5 inches in parts of northern Massachusetts. However in Connecticut we are only expecting just rain to a coating to maybe a inch or 2 in the hills of NW c.t The Christmas storm potential is snow way over as it will miss the northeast and go out to sea. This is disappointing to many who were dreaming of a white Christmas in the north east. In the west its a totally different story. they have a lot of snow and very cold temperatures. last week the blizzard hit all the way to northern Texas and some areas got up to 14 inches of snow. I love the cold and i am sick of this warm weather in the northeast. Bring on the cold! Hopefully it will snow soon so i can go skiing! Merry Christmas everyone!

Last chance of snow

Here in Connecticut i have been excited about the possible Christmas storm i have been reading and hearing about. I got all excited just to be disappointing to hear that its going out the sea and we are going to get a total miss! However there is a chance that i will get a white Christmas this year in New Hartford C.T because of the next system. after today's warm day with rain its suppose to be UNseasonably warm as we could get to the 50s tomorrow as the first day of winter! Winter comes dec 22 at 12:30am. However it could snow a little in northern c.t Friday morning and there could be a coating to 3 inches. Maybe even 4 in the hills. If one inch was to stay by Christmas we would have a white Christmas! LET IT SNOW!

Green Christmas

I personalty love snow and especially during the holidays. However here in Connecticut and a lot of New England are going to see a green Christmas. October seems to have stolen all of the snow when i got 20 inches here in New Hartford Connecticut. Ever sense that storm we have only gotten a traced to a inch of snow that's now melted in Connecticut.
As we look ahead into the future there is no big threat of a storm. possible storm could come into Connecticut late Tuesday and into Wednesday but its looking to be mostly a rain event.  here is the forecast for New york city.

Winter outlook 2011-2012

The coming winter, 2011-2012 is predicted to be very similar to last years winter. Last year in the northeast we saw record snowfall amounts in cities like, New York, Hartford, Boston, and much more. This coming winter is suppose be as wet but not as cold in the north east. What is concerning in that it is suppose to be dry in the texas area. This is only going to make the drought there worse! In the south its suppose to be warmer and dry, in central U.S. its expected to have average temps and precipitation, and in the northwest it could be bad for them as its expected to be cooler than average and ALOT wetter! The winter this year is going to be greatly affected by la nina as the eastern central pacific ocean will be 3-5 degrees Celsius cooler than average. This sets up for more wet weather and cooler temperatures in the northwest.
I personally love snow and i don't mind getting a lot as long as snowblower works, and the roof does not collapse!
Here are some maps from weather.com and made from NOAA.

Alaska Superstorm

The National Weather Service in Alaska states that an historic hurricane-force storm system is moving into the Bering Sea on Tuesday. The storm, which is forecast to have sustained winds of 80 mph over an area the size of Colorado, is also predicted to produce storm surge effects on the Alaskan coast 8 to 10 feet above normal water levels. The Alaskan city of Nome is in its path.
The lack of the sea ice in the bering sea will allow this storm to cause a greater impact as it has little protection against the waves and surge its going to cause. Its also going to bring blizzard like conditions to westering inland Alaska.

This storm is going to be the worst they have seen in decades! They have not seen a storm like this sense 11-12-1972 storm that was destructive.
Whats going on with all of this crazy weather these days!?
